Ford USA wanted an effective and engaging interactive training program to prepare emergency first responders in the event of a Fuel Cell Vehicle accident. Although consider safer than standard petroleum powered vehicles, Ford needed to ensure that emergency professionals were adequately trained before the fleet of Ford Focus Fuel Cell Vehicles were released on the Streets of California, Florida and Michigan.

Flawless Execution

Like these technically advanced world-class automobiles our training program had to be flawlessly executed while offering an engaging training experience. Working with the Donat Group team, Ford was able to convey the technical and safety features of the Ford Focus Fuel Cell Vehicles, while providing necessary training on appropriate emergency response procedures.

A significant challenge for Donat Group was that the training needed to be available before the team would have physical access to the actual vehicles. To solve the problem Donat Group constructed 3D versions of the vehicles, which included the detailed electrical systems and fuel lines. Using these 3D renderings detailed visual training could be completed before the cars were ready.When released, satisfaction to the training and the visual quality of product was extremely high. This training program is used in British Columbia and in every State where Ford Fuel Cell Vehicles operate.
