MTV has extended its relationships with Donat Group to build an identity system working with Flux.com and their numerous virtual worlds. The identity system will facilitate single sign-on and attribution exchange. As part of the deeper relationship, Donat Group will develop the virtual item e-commerce system for all of the virtual worlds.

MTV Networks operates Virtual Laguna Beach, Virtual Hills, Pimp My Ride, Virtual Lower East Side, and the award winning console game, Rock Band.

Branham Group names, Donat Group's R&D spin-off, Project Opus as one of Canada's top 25 Up and Coming Companies. Project Opus began as a research project of Donat Group in 2004. It was spun off as an independent company in 2006, and has since been developing leading social media technologies for music and video.

The Virtual Lower East Side went from a closed Alpha to an Open Alpha on December 31, and the New York Times has already published a story on the The Virtual Lower East Side. The NYT points out that some may be shocked that MTV is behind this Project:
